About Me

Well I'm sure you now know that I am Cate Taylor and I am a designer-maker of mosaic homewares and accessories. I live and work in Bexleyheath, South East London UK.

I specialise in creating one off pieces using recycled furniture and crockery.

I love to have a rummage through charity shops, junk shops, antique shops and of course boot fairs!  There is a wealth of materials  available from a variety of sources. Shabby chic and vintage crockery looks particularly beautiful when used in mosaic. The random nature of discovering these pieces is for me part of the pleasure of creating.

Incorporating these "found" elements in my work always keeps it changing and evolving.

Every mosaic is a one-off and cannot be replicated exactly. Just like you and me!

Each and every one of my mosaics has love and care put into its creation.

I have a passion for old books too. The texture and colour  of the pages has to be right.  The book has to have some age and if the contents are a little quirky then so much the better! Incorporating decoupage into my mosaics means I get to work with the two crafts I enjoy the most.
